The surface measurement business is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Intertronics

Intertronics, a supplier of adhesives, coatings, sealants, and manufacturing equipment has announced the purchase of Dyne Testing.

The deal means that Dyne Testing is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Intertronics, which aligns with Intertronics’ existing business.

Dyne Testing offers a range of measurement equipment for testing surface energy and tension, surface cleanliness, adhesion, and coating thickness in order to improve industrial processes and quality.

Intertronics already supplies surface treatment technologies that alter the energy of a substrate and remove contaminants to improve adhesion, meaning the purchase was a logical acquisition for Intertronics.

Peter Swanson, managing director of Intertronics, says: “Most of our customers are interested in adhesion and/or cleanliness, so it is not surprising that Intertronics shares around 75% of Dyne Testing’s customer base. There are a lot of synergies we can leverage to support and grow the Dyne Testing business.”

Over time all operations will be moved from Dyne Testing to Intertronics’ site in Kiglington, Oxfordshire. So far Dyne Testing has retained “key members” of its team for a “smooth transition” for customers.

Alison Fox, who has the new role of brand manager at Dyne Testing, says: “Intertronics brings a wealth of resources to the Dyne Testing business, including sales and marketing teams, customer sales support functions, an extensive warehouse with modern operations, and a custom-designed Technology Centre for hands-on demonstrations and trials.”
