Having always bought its vehicle outright, bespoke signage manufacturer Astley has opted for a new direction as it takes delivery of four new vans on a contract hire package.
The decision to opt for vans from Fraikin was due to its full-comprehensive contract hire package which will service Astley’s fleet needs and enabled the company to secure the vans in rapid time.
Had Astley opted to purchase its vans outright as in the past, the company could have been waiting 12 to 18 months for the vehicles to arrive, explains Paul Tierney, installation manager at Astley.
“We’re well aware of the current challenges in vehicle supply, but it still came as a shock to be told by most companies that we could be waiting 12 to 18 months for our vans to arrive,” he says, adding: “that was not the case with Fraikin, however.”
Backed by a long-term contract hire agreement, the four new vans will replace older vans in Astley’s 26-strong fleet.
Supplied with all servicing, repairs, road fund licencing, regular safety inspections, annual MOT testing, tyre management, roadside assistance, and more, Fraikin was able to make sure the vehicles were the right fit for Astley’s needs.
Fraikin also offers its MYSMARTFLEET platform which supports data-derived driver behaviour analysis and safety services such as instant crash alerts. The fleet services company’s online web portal FraikinView is also included in the agreement with Astley and provides an overview of all scheduled maintenance work.
Three of the new vans will be based at Astley’s site in Kettering and the fourth will be based in Essex with one of the 15 installation crews.
