MediaCo Group, a supplier of large-format print, materials, and display graphics, has taken delivery of the first swissQprint Kudu in the UK at its site in Trafford Park, Manchester.

The Kudu was unveiled at last year's Fespa Global Print Expo in Berlin and is a high-end flatbed printer that complements the existing swissQprint flatbed range, including the Nyala, Impala, and Oryx.

The printer is the first swissQprint model to feature ten colour channels and features swissQprint’s Tip Switch vacuum and includes a 260-zone divided flatbed for greater user control.

MediaCo describes itself as a sustainable display graphics manufacturing centre of excellence which has built a professional and reputable team for over 20 years. The company supplies products for the likes of the TV and film industry, outdoor media, experiential campaigns, interior décor, and event branding.

Due to the company’s core values the power consumption and operating costs of this latest purchase was highly important.

Stephen Arthur, managing director at MediaCo, comments: "swissQprint's reputation for quality is second to none. The flexibility, productivity, and energy efficiency offered by the Kudu made it the perfect fit in support of our commitment to deliver innovation as part of our net zero carbon reduction plan."

Arthur adds: “Installing the UK's first Kudu is another first for MediaCo and I have no doubt the Kudu will quickly become the ‘go to’ solution for outstanding and innovative displays”.

Quality and colour range was another big deciding factor for the Manchester-based company which was drawn to the white, varnish, and neon yellow and pink colours combined with the Kudu’s CMYKLcLm set up.

Arthur says: "Outstanding print quality, application of neon inks, and amazing 3D images on acrylic are just some of the innovative options we can now provide for the beMatrix system and will help revolutionise both the impact and sustainability of display graphics."

MediaCo will utilise features including the ability to print 2pt text sizes, as well as the ability to add texture with up to five layers of print, alongside gloss, satin, or matt spot clear varnishes.

“Delighted” with the latest install, Ian Maxfield, sales manager at swissQprint UK concludes: "It will be fascinating to see the print solutions the business provides for customers with its new machine."
