Vestel responds to catastrophic earthquake

The Turkish digital signage provider has released a statement regarding the recent disaster

Vestel has released a statement expressing its sadness at the catastrophe that has hit its country

Turkish technology provider, Vestel, which is a part of the Zorlu Group, a collection of 57 companies within Turkey, has released a statement regarding the devastating earthquakes that have hit the country.

Vestel Group, which compromises of several technology branches of the business, produces a large amount of Europe’s digital signage displays for sectors like retail, entertainment, and transportation.

Vestel Visual Solutions produces products like interactive flat panel displays, LCD and LED video walls, and TVs for the hospitality industry.

The group also owns the sales license of Toshiba Business Display Solutions for European regions, providing solutions such as 16/7 signage, 24/7 signage, videowalls, and embedded signage.

The business is headquartered in Manisa, Turkey, but has offices in locations like Berkshire in the UK, Madrid, Spain, and Munich, Germany.

Tens of thousands of people have been killed and many more injured by a huge earthquake which hit south-eastern Turkey, near the Syrian border, on Monday February 6th.

In response, Vestel International says: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives and destruction caused by the earthquake disaster in the southeast region of our country.

“We wish God's mercy on our citizens who lost their lives, and a speedy recovery to our wounded.”

In relation to potential side effects of the disaster, in a translated statement, Zorlu Group adds: “As the Zorlu Group, we closely follow the developments in our provinces affected by the earthquake and continue to be in contact with the relevant public institutions and aid teams for all kinds of support.

“The shipment of the materials needed in the earthquake region, and the transportation of our expert teams, trained in search and rescue, was carried out with the coordination of AFAD (the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency)”.

Vestel had recently exhibited at ISE 2023, in Barcelona, where the company demonstrated its digital screens and technologies.

Regarding the earthquake recovery, Zorlu Group concludes: “We hope that our wounds will be healed together as soon as possible.”
