A life-sized F1 racing car model crafted from Formulate tension fabric materials is now on display at the Ultima Displays showroom, after the racing car replica was nominated for a recent industry award.
Display stand manufacturer and creative display solutions specialist, Ultima Displays, first debuted the design at The Print Show 2025 at the NEC in Birmingham.
The vehicle model integrated a race simulator complete with a seat, steering wheel, and pedals, allowing attendees to climb into the cockpit and take a shot at the driving experience of an F1 driver.
The specialist display project was constructed to demonstrate how imaginative design and manufacturing techniques can transform conventional display materials into something eye-catching and attention grabbing.
The F1 car was subsequently nominated for the Print Industry Awards 2026, receiving a Highly Commended prize in recognition of the creativity, innovation, and technical expertise behind the unique display project.

The Custom Formulate F1 Car is now on display at Ultima Displays' head office in Corby, Northamptonshire, where trade partners are invited to see it up close.
Visitors can also explore Ultima's wider showroom to discover its latest display innovations and learn more about the company's bespoke design, print, manufacturing, and installation capabilities.
Gary Maycock, commercial manager (Custom & Modular) at Ultima Displays, says: “We wanted to create something that would stop visitors dead in their tracks – and what better way than to build an F1 car around a racing simulator?”
The project brought together expertise from across the Ultima Displays team from initial concept and CAD development through to graphic design, production, finishing, and final assembly.
Maycock explains: “The idea was to get people talking, draw them onto our stand, and show them what Ultima Displays can do when we push the boundaries of creativity. Our talented CAD team turned the concept into an incredible structure while Adrian Martin, our senior graphic designer, gave it the full F1 treatment, cleverly weaving our brand colours and product category logos into the graphics.”
Those wishing to attend the Ultima Displays showroom have been encouraged to book a visit through an online portal or contact a member of the Ultima Displays team directly.
