Roland DG has launched its new S-PG3 DTF ink for its TY-300i printer, which has been developed to deliver cost efficiencies, production stability, and increased print performance

Print press and inks manufacturer, Roland DG, has launched its new S-PG3 direct-to-film (DTF) ink for the TY-300i printer, which aims to deliver improved cost efficiency, production stability, and print performance for apparel decoration businesses.
Developed in response to growing demand for faster, more cost-effective DTF production, S-PG3 has been designed to help businesses increase profitability without compromising on quality.
As DTF becomes an increasingly popular production method for custom apparel, sportswear, and workwear, print businesses face increasing pressure to maximise output while controlling operational costs.
The TY-300i and S-PG3 combination has been engineered to address these challenges by combining reliable production performance with a lower total cost of ownership.
When paired with the TY-300i printer, the new ink can also more consistently produce vibrant, durable graphics across a wide variety of apparel applications.
The new S-PG3 ink features enhanced ink flow characteristics and improved jetting stability, helping minimise nozzle misfiring and dropouts during long production runs.
Its improved formulation can also enable more uniform ink coverage across the film surface, resulting in stronger colour consistency and vibrant print output.
Equipped with dual print heads and an integrated heater, the TY-300i delivers production speeds of up to 10.9 sq m/h, having been developed to enable apparel businesses to scale production while maintaining consistent quality.
Under typical operating conditions of eight hours per day, twenty days per month and a transfer size of 300 mm x 300 mm, the TY-300i has been calculated to produce approximately 3,300 T-shirts per month.
The solution also integrates with finishing devices including Graphtec and Summa cutting systems, with the goal of helping businesses to build more efficient, high-volume production workflows.
Ryugo Nimura, executive officer of the Global Sales and Marketing division at Roland DG, says: "As the DTF market continues to evolve, print businesses need solutions that help them stay competitive without sacrificing quality.
“The combination of the TY-300i and our new S-PG3 ink delivers exactly that. Customers can achieve lower running costs, exceptional colour performance, and stable, continuous production from a single integrated solution. It enables businesses to produce more, produce better, and improve profitability at the same time."
The S-PG3 ink is now available worldwide through Roland DG authorised dealers.
