Multinational insurance broker, Howden, has announced updates to its Print Business insurance which aim to better support sign-makers and vehicle and fleet graphics businesses, while bringing together specialist expertise from both the print and motor trade sectors.

The enhanced proposition has been developed to reflect the way sign-makers across the UK operate, balancing workshop-based production with on-site installation, customer vehicles, and work at height.

By combining expertise across these specialist areas, the offering is designed to protect against the real-world challenges these businesses face on a daily basis.

The proposition combines backing from two of the UK’s largest insurers with a more tailored underwriting approach. This can enable businesses of all sizes to access flexible cover, including extensions typically reserved for larger organisations.

Highlights of the offering include no maximum limit on vehicles on the road, open driving for authorised and licensed drivers, and flexible cover for height work, heat use, and unattended operations.

Luke Wildey, a former printer now working as an insurance broker in Howden’s Print Business team, says: β€œSign-makers and vehicle graphics businesses sit at the intersection of print and motor trade, and their insurance needs don’t always fit neatly into one category.

β€œThis enhancement is about recognising that and providing cover that reflects how these businesses actually operate. Rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, we’re offering a more informed, specialist approach that supports everything from the production floor to on-site installation and vehicle work.”

The offering is available to UK businesses across the print, signage, wide-format, and vehicle graphics sectors, and is accessible to independent businesses, franchised centres, and larger organisations alike.

Those wishing to find out more have been encouraged to get in touch with Howden’s Print Business team, with more information available on the Howden website.
