HP has used the opening day of the FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 to announce the launch of its new HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ PostScript Printer Series Plus Edition.

Designed for small and medium-sized businesses, HP says the launches mark the next step in the evolution of its large format printing graphics portfolio. Both machines will be demoed throughout FESPA 2026, which opened today (19th May) and runs to 22nd May.

HP says the printers combine the strengths of its existing HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9 models, which in turn expands access to professional photo-quality output across a range of industries.

“Print businesses need to do more with less; faster turnaround, broader applications, and consistent quality,” says Daniel Martinez, senior vice president and division president for HP Large Format Printing, adding: “The HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ PostScript Printer Series Plus Edition is built to deliver the precision, quality, and productivity customers need to grow profitably.”

Both machines feature HP Pixel Control technology and HP Vivid Photo Inks, while HP also flags its dual-drop technology, which it says enables high-quality output without requiring light inks, helping maintain productivity across multiple media types.

Focusing on the HP DesignJet Z9⁺ Plus Edition Printer, this, HP says is designed for use in “colour-critical” applications, with an embedded spectrophotometer helping consistent colour calibration.

Aside from the new models, HP will use FESPA 2026 to spread the word about the latest updates to its HP PrintOS Production Hug. Targeted at large-format print, the software integrates order management, job preparation, and remote print control in one connected workflow.

Other highlights on the HP stand this week include the first trade show live demos of the new HP Latex FS70 W Printer. Introduced in October 2025, the machine is billed as the most productive printer in the HP Latex range. It will make its UK trade event bow at The Sign Show in September.
