Vehicle graphics company, RGVA, has completed its latest set of vinyl vehicle wraps for Johnsons Hotel, Restaurant & Catering Linen (Johnsons), taking the total number of vehicles it has liveried for the company to 232.

RGVA has been wrapping vehicles for Johnsons since 2017, applying the company’s livery to vehicles including its full fleet of 3.5-tonne vans.

Originally, the liveries applied by RGVA featured three separate designs for the laundry, workwear, and textile rental divisions of the company. In 2022 Johnsons simplified its branding, allowing vehicles to operate across the different facets of the business without the need for rebranding.

The latest round of vehicles consisted of 53 7.5-tonne trucks. RGVA utilised 3M’s ij280 vinyl wrapping for graphics on the cabs, while the flat surfaces of the truck box bodies were wrapped in Arlon 4550gtx vinyl.

3M’s ij280 offering features a proprietary adhesive which 3M has dubbed its ‘Comply v4 Air Release technology’, designed to ensure a smooth finish on every application.

Arlon’s 4550gtx is a white polymeric film featuring a tinted, permanent, and pressure-sensitive solvent-based adhesive. It is rated for outdoor durability up to five years unprinted.

According to RGVA, each of the wraps typically lasts for the duration of the operation of the vehicle, ranging from three to eight years.

Speaking of the wrapping carried out by RGVA, Phil Martin, Shaftsbury transport manager for Johnsons, says: “We continue to be impressed with the efficiency of the team and the customer support offered by RGVA.

“The quality of the work is always excellent and we’ve had no issues with wraps peeling like we had to deal with when using a previous supplier.”

Martin adds: “I’ve taken the time to watch the team wrap a few of our vehicles and it’s a fascinating process. RGVA ensure the wrap is done perfectly, even around the trickiest bits of the trucks, and you can tell they really care about making sure every part of the process is done to the highest possible standard.”

In 2024, RGVA completed its purchase of truck and trailer wrappers, Vinyl Signs & Designs, after ten years of working in partnership with the company. The company also owns truck advertising company, JaulinAds, and self-adhesive vinyl fitters, InteriArt.
