Three European premieres from Canon

Canon launched three European premieres at FESPA Global Print Expo 2022.

The manufacturer has revealed its fastest flatbed printer in the Arizona range, the Arizona 6100 Mark II series as well as a new UVgel feature and workflow software.

Described as a “reliable, easy-to-integrate, high-volume, true flatbed flagship printer”, the 6100 Mark II series printer has a print speed of up to 220m²/hr and can handle print volumes up to 20,000m2 to 300,000 m² a year.

The new series is made up of two models, the Arizona 6100 XTS Mark II which can print onto almost any rigid substrates. The second model is the Arizona 6100 XTHF Mark II, which supported by Arizona High-FLOW technology, has been designed for large-format graphics production and printing onto challenging packaging substrates.

The FLXfinish UVgel feature can print in matte and gloss in one print

The High-FLOW technology enables users to print onto difficult substrates such as plywood that warps as it “overwhelms” the substrate with suction technology to pull-down and hold-down the material. This technology is 15 times more powerful than the vacuum of the Arizona XTS.

Also launching at Canon’s stand this week is FLXfinish, a UVgel feature that using one ink set enables large-format graphics producers to produce matte, gloss, and mixed matte and gloss in a single print.

This new feature will be used as standard on all Colorado 1650s and optional on all Colorado 1630s, with the option to upgrade to all 1630s and 1650s already installed.

Finally, Canon will be launching its new PRISMAservice cloud-based platform for faster, more efficient customer support for Amazon and Colorado machines.

PRISMA XL Suite has been designed for the production of print applications

Mathew Faulkner, EMEA director of Marketing and Innovation for Canon Europe’s Wide-Format Printing Group, says: “Our customers are constantly looking to deliver value to their customers and offering that ‘extra special thing’ that makes them stand out. At the same time, pressures on delivery times require higher levels of continuous 24/7 production with fewer operators, so customers need to integrate workflow automation into their activities, by means of smart technology solutions.

“This is why we have introduced our three European premieres here today at FESPA 2022. With FLXfinish+ on the Colorado series, our latest next-generation technology in the Arizona 6100 Mark II series, and the PRISMA XL Suite, we want to help our customers spot new business opportunities, produce commercially viable applications with ease, and help them to transform those opportunities into ongoing business success.”
