Antalis unveils planet-friendly outdoor boards

Antalis has expanded its portfolio of environmentally friendly products with the launch of three fibre-based outdoor display boards.

The new boards, Antalis says, will help meet an increase in customer demand for plastic-free products and will be suitable for use across a wide range of applications.

Libra Weather Board is billed as an alternative for short-term signage and promotional displays that can be used outdoors for up to eight weeks. It has a core of water-repellent recycled fibres, laminated either side with a kraft liner to give the product rigidity, and is 100% recyclable.

DISPA Outdoor is a smooth and printable white surface with a unique core that provides flatness and dimensional stability. Suitable for short-term outdoor display and signage applications, the product is also 100% recyclable.

The third board product is Katz Outdoor Board, an alternative to PE-coated substrates and polypropylene fluted sheets. Comprising a water-resistant spruce wood core laminated with poster paper, it can be used in 12-week outdoor projects such as event signage and POS.

Paul Neale, visual communications product manager at Antalis, comments: “Customers are looking for eco-responsible alternatives for outdoor applications. Traditionally, plastic-based products have been used due to harsh weather restricting the use of fibre-based materials.

“We’ve been working with our suppliers to explore fibre-based products that are suitable for external environments, providing quality and durability, as well as strong environmental credentials.”
