Nurturing local young talent at MacroArt

Wide-format printing company, MacroArt, has been training up the next generation with a new group of apprentices.

The three newest apprentices, which started in April this year, are all from within 30 miles of MacroArt’s local area of St.Neots.

Showcasing the company’s dedication to supporting local talent, 19-year-old Callum Throne who recently completed his apprentice at MacroArt and now works in the production department, is also mentoring the new team members.

Michael Green, managing director of MacroArt explains that the apprenticeship programme is part of the company’s Future Improvement plan which launched in 2019.

“We committed to developing talented young people from the local community via specialist print training provider, Learn2Print, to help future-proof MacroArt’s ‘experience bank’,” Green explains.

These appointments truly form the next cohort of experience and capability for the future of our industry, and we are proud to embrace apprenticeship schemes

MacroArt now has four apprentices throughout the business from marketing to print and finishing and Green says the company plans to double this figure.

He adds: “The future of any business lies in the constant supply of keen young enthusiastic new starters, and we are fortunate to be able to find such a rich source of talent within the Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, Beds and Northants catchment area.

“These appointments truly form the next cohort of experience and capability for the future of our industry, and we are proud to embrace apprenticeship schemes.”
