On the silver screen with Cinépolis and nsign.tv

Americas-facing cinema chain Cinépolis partnered with nsign.tv on a major digital signage project that saw new systems installed at its locations across Mexico, Brazil and the US.

Working in collaboration with AV integrator Stratech, the Mexican partner of nsign.tv, phase one of the initiative saw the remote download and installation of 1,600 nsign.tv players in Cinépolis’ displays.

The Cinépolis digital signage network is composed of screens with different characteristics in its cinemas and, as such, nsign.tv had to manage different operating systems, displays and screen resolutions.

Germán Talón, chief technology officer at nsign.tv, comments: “Cinépolis needed a solution that allowed them to manage their movie listings and the food court prices automatically.

“The data that was to be displayed on their menu boards and digital billboards had to be automatically updated with their data, meaning that the nsign.tv applets had to update automatically and without any human interaction.”

In a statement, Cinépolis adds: “[We] chose nsign.tv for the power, flexibility, the capacity to improve the product on the fly, the speed of response and for having certain features that other platforms did not offer.

“nsign.tv allows us to do the things all the other platforms told us where impossible to do.”
