The partnership will see BrightSign players integrated with Nexmosphere technology as part of an effort to help bring consumers back into shops now that retail has reopened.
The Nexmosphere XT-EF650 AirGesture sensor will be integrated with BrightSign players to register hand swipes, while an AirButton feature will detect when a customer’s hand enters or leaves the sensor’s detection field.
Capacitive sensing technology allows the sensor to be placed behind or below any non-metal surface, meaning consumers will not have to physically touch any surfaces.
BrightSign players will also be integrated with the Nexmosphere XY-240 presence sensor with AirButton functionality, whereby a Time of Flight sensor registers the presence of a customer in front of an installation and their distance from it.
In addition, BrightSign players will be used alongside with Nexmosphere XC-700 controllers featuring LightMark LED control, which allows ambient lighting to be controlled in tune with the digital signage presentation.
Jeff Hastings, chief executive of BrightSign, comments: “Retail faces a brave new world following COVID. We have spent years encouraging customers to interact with touch-screen interfaces, and now we are finding new ways to deliver exciting in-store experiences.
“BrightSign players and Nexmosphere technologies together face today’s challenges head-on with forward-thinking technology that is sure to bring digital displays to life without touch.”
