FESPA postpones Eurasia event to 2021

FESPA has announced that this year’s edition of its FESPA Eurasia event will be pushed back to December 2021, due to ongoing concerns related to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The event, hosted in partnership with FESPA’s Turkish Association ARED, had been due to take place from December 3rd to 6th at the Istanbul Expo Centre in Turkey.

However, it will now instead run from December 2nd to 5th next year at the same venue, with organisers hoping that the worst of the pandemic will have passed.

FESPA says it understands the uncertainty and business disruption caused by the pandemic, and that the organisation is focused on “safeguarding the health and safety of exhibitors, visitors and contractors”.

Neil Felton, chief executive of FESPA, expands: “The feedback from our FESPA Eurasia exhibitor and visitor community has been very positive.

“We’re enthusiastic about returning to Istanbul in December 2021 to provide a regional event platform that supports the market with business recovery and celebrates the industry.”

The postponement of the event comes after FESPA also rearranged its showpiece exhibition Global Print Expo, which will now take place from March 9th to 12 at the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Originally, the event had been due to run in March at the IFEMA in Madrid, Spain, but was pushed back to October due to Covid-19.

However, with concerns that the Covid-19 pandemic would still cause issues for an October event, FESPA then moved the show to a new date and venue next year.

The Print Show and Drupa are among the other events that have been delayed due to the Covid-19 crisis.
