The company used graphics made in Orajet 3967AC Aircraft Graphic Film with an overlaminate of Oraguard 293AC.

She adds: “We introduced the ORAJET 3967AC Aircraft Graphic Film and ORAGUARD 293AC just two years ago, and already it has become a very well established product in the ever increasing market for high quality aircraft deco films.”

The plane landing was a joint partnership between Antarctic Logistics and Expeditions (ALE), Loftleidir Icelandic, and NAS Corporation Limited (NAS). They aimed to research the potential for using conventional passenger airlines for blue-ice landings instead of only passenger/cargo aircrafts which have been used previously.

Zocher adds: “In general, the technical requirements for durability in extreme conditions are very high for graphic aircraft films. Withstanding polar conditions such as these in Antarctica is a good example of this. I am pleased to say that the ORAFOL materials are up for any such challenges.”

With Zocher’s last comment in mind, Orafol recently revealed a prismatic reflective translucent film, Oralite 6910T Brilliant Grade Translucent, which is available in a range of colours.

The company claims the film is ‘currently one of the brightest products of its kind in the market’ due to its ‘prismatic construction’.
