Going strong 155 years on

Specialist trade supplier to the sign-making industry, James Robertshaw, has revealed that the first two quarters of business in 2015 have seen a significant bump in sales as business owners seek to capitalise on a return to growth for the UK economy.

“Our 5 x 3m Puma awning is one of our most popular products, and is the strongest in the country,” says Tony Garbe, national sales manager for the 155 year old firm.

He continues: “We work with a number of very good clients from the sign industry. A good example is a sign-maker who did the TGI Friday’s nationwide rebrand last year. Other interesting jobs very recently were to do the Ryan Giggs restaurant and all the Revolution bars across the country. We offer an entire end-to-end service from surveys to fittings.”

Garbe concludes: “We hand paint the awnings and use a transfer printing system and heat press for the business logo or specific imagery. it helps improve the durability of the finished product and we have not yet found a digital print system than cope with what we need to throw at it in terms of unbroken graphic size and can give a better ROI than our current setup.”
