Hollywood Monster, a Birmingham-based wide-format printer and signage contractor recently decorated Birmingham city centre for its 2023 Birmingham Festival.

The event marked the one-year anniversary of the city’s successful hosting of the 2022 Commonwealth Games which saw Birmingham decorated with a range of different banners, flags, and graphics printed and installed by various businesses including Hollywood Monster.

Taking part over ten days, Birmingham Festival ’23 included a host of different interactions and activities catered towards all ages.

Many live and on-screen events were organised by local community groups, demonstrating the city’s diversity, a subject of celebration at the festival.

Hollywood Monster’s bold prints and graphics acted as backdrops and interactive areas to the event, echoing the vibrancy and colours seen at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Simon McKenzie, chief executive officer of Hollywood Monster, comments: “As a Birmingham-based business we were delighted to play our part in the Commonwealth Games last year supporting our long-standing customer CSM Live, in dressing our great city and helping to showcase everything it has to offer in front of a worldwide audience.

“Birmingham Festival ‘23 was another great opportunity to promote our vibrant and diverse culture and the communities that live and work here in the West Midlands, and we are honoured to be a part of that.”

The event was commissioned and supported by Birmingham City Council along with Principal Partners Arts Council England and the University of Birmingham.

McKenzie adds: “Our team worked tirelessly to provide graphics and designs that were displayed proudly throughout our hometown, with the bold designs and bright colours encouraging the vibrant party atmosphere.”
