London sees yellow in new bus campaign

The streets of London are being brightened up with the presence of vibrant yellow double decker buses in a new campaign.

The campaign has been running for seven years

Banana brand, Chiquita, has decorated London buses to promote its new ‘super-premium’ bananas whilst also “outshining the dark days of the pandemic cloud”.

John Cockle, sales and market director of UK and Ireland at Chiquita, says: “The double-decker buses are synonymous to being considered London’s national symbol. Featuring a bold and impactful yet fun and vibrant campaign in true Chiquita fashion on such an iconic platform, is a strategic avenue to bring local residents a dose of fun and excitement in their everyday city lives.”

Running for the seventh consecutive year, Cockle says the company’s London bus campaign reinforces its brand promise of consistency.

The wrapped buses aim to brighten up people’s days as well as promote the new banana range

The designs have always been fun and playful with last year’s buses featuring the word ‘bananas’ and images of the company’s blue stickers repeated across the whole bus.

This year, some of the designs are slightly more stripped back and feature a banana on a yellow background with the words ‘fruit that smiles back’.

The company also promoted the health benefits of its bananas through a sticker series which ran from January to February this year.

Limited-edition stickers focused on the benefits of bananas included sayings such as “Nature’s Candy Bar”, and “Rush Hour Fuel”.
