The introduction of the DYSS X5 digital cutter to the company’s Swindon premises has meant Anytech’s print finishing can now be handled automatically in-house.

This follows a trend that has seen much growth in recent years, as outsourcing becomes more costly than purchasing your own equipment and producing work in-house.

The creative cardboard engineering and print specialist has installed the cutter also in a bid to grow the large-format part of its business further.

Anytech already uses digital print devices from Xerox and Roland to produce large-format graphics and point-of-sale signage work, but the new cutter will process short runs of digital printed packaging without the lengthy lead-times and set-up times.

Anytech has found Kasemake’s 3D visualisation features useful when pitching to clients and helping existing customers, as the software can render proposed designs as 3D mock-ups that can be easily emailed for proofing.

Chin Williams, owner of Anytech, reportedly considered equipment from Esko and Summa before making his decision to purchase from DYSS. The DYSS X5 with the ‘added benefit’ of the Kasemake package came out ‘a clear winner’.

Williams expects the new investment in equipment and software will ‘help increase company profits substantially’, and hopes to at least double its turnover within the next twelve months.

Anytech is not the only company benefitting from equipment supplied by AG/CAD. The supplier has had a prosperous start to the year with several high profile technology sales.

Sign company Impression also revealed that it has delivered year-on-year growth in excess of 20 percent through equipment investments such as an AG/CAD KM627R digital cutting machine and DYSS X7-1624C Superhead digital cutter.

Point-of-sale display and packaging producer, DST, has also invested in AG/CAD’s technology by opting for a DYSS X5 digital cutter to bolster the design department of its Nottingham facility.
