Kinly promotion addresses AV market needs

Audio Visual (AV) systems integrator Kinly has announced the promotion of Stuart Davidson to the role of operations director for UK and Ireland.

Stuart Davidson joined the AV industry in 1996 and has progressed over the years to his newly appointed role of operations director for UK&I at Kinly

Described by Kinly as an “AV heavyweight”, Davidson will oversee consultancy and design, projects, warehouse and logistics, hire and judicial, and health and safety. He will also develop products, solutions, and processes depending on market and technology demand.

Joining the AV industry over 25 years ago, Davidson has served roles in large and small organisations including running his own AV services business. In 2016, he joined Kinly as service delivery director for Global Services and soon after became technical services director which he retained until his recent promotion.

“My previous position is folded into the new one,” Davidson explains, adding: “That means I now have responsibility for the design side of the business as well as the operations project delivery side.

“For me, that’s an important move because we’re seeing the industry continuously moving and changing, with technology being a key driver. So, it makes sense that the operational and technical sides come under one umbrella.”

Tom Martin, chief executive officer of Kinly, adds: “Stuart has played a central role in the success of Kinly. He has built excellent rapport between the technical team, projects, and service departments. In 2021, Stuart took the opportunity to chair the Global Product Board. So, he has a profound understanding of what products work and what doesn’t and has the expertise to help us shape our direction.

“His technical grounding is superb and that’s what we need as we focus on the next stage of our evolution.”
