Year of fundraising ends on a high

At the start of the year Midwich announced its new partnership with Norfolk and Waveney mental health charity, Mind. The charity was the top choice from employees and the company has been working hard to raise funds for it throughout the year and will continue in 2020.

The quiz night had record numbers of attendees

The Diss-based company’s latest activity was its ninth annual quiz night which raised almost £9,000 and was attended by over 150 members of staff.

Claire Wattam and Scott Norman, Midwich staff members and quiz organisers describe the event as a “record breaking night” in terms of how much was raised, the amount of prizes donated and number of attendees.

“We had over 26 prizes donated by our manufacturer partners and support from our main sponsors SMART Technologies, Samsung, IIYAMA, Fujitsu, Brother and LG. Our quiz brings everyone together for a really fun night and it’s been a pleasure to organise for nine years now.

“To put this into perspective, the first quiz was attended by 30 people using a small projector and screen,” they explain.

We are delighted Midwich chose to support us and raise funds […] as an independent charity, we are very grateful for the support of our local community

Midwich’s partners have played a big role in helping it achieve its fundraising goals this year and recently donated £10,000 worth of classroom technology which was given to a local primary school.

Commenting on Midwich’s fundraising efforts, Alexandra Haswell, fundraising and campaigns manager for Norfolk and Waveney Mind says: “We are delighted Midwich chose to support us and raise funds to help us offer an extensive range of support, advice and information to the people, businesses and communities within Norfolk and Waveney.

“As an independent charity, we are very grateful for the support of our local community. Midwich recently launched their charity pledge which forms part of their Corporate and Social Responsibility focus. As part of that, the trade-only distributor has committed to raise between £40-50k for the Mind charity throughout 2019-2020.”
