Trotec has announced the launch of a new laser cutter it says will offer greater speeds and efficiency to companies across the signage and display industries.

The new Q500 cutter has a top processing speed of 2m/s

Using Trotec's OptiMotion control system, the new Q500 cutter has a maximum processing speed of 2m/s and can deliver fine engravings up to a font size of 4 pt.

The Q500 can be supplied with two different laser source options: the 60-120W power DC CO2 glass tube model for cutting applications, and the dual-source model with a 60W CeramiCore RF CO2 source for applications which involve a lot of engraving.

Other features on the new Q500 cutting system is Trotec's JobControl software, which the manufacturer says acts as a print driver and is compatible with a wide range of graphic design programs.

The latest model also boasts improved quality and speed compared to Trotec's entry-level R500 model, which has the same 1300 x 900 mm bed size, but does not include all of the features found in the more advanced SP series.

The laser system is fully supported by Trotec's UK subsidiary, while customers in the UK will benefit from extended warranty options, as well as training and as ongoing support from the company's UK technical service and support team.
