The company has signed up to the new SME Finance Charter which consists of five pledges set out by the Business Finance Council.

Compass has outlined its specific commitment to these pledges which are being open for business and ready to lend; helping SMEs build back better after Covid-19; supporting SME’s applications and signposting to other options if needed; treating SMEs fairly at all times; and working with the government-owned British Business Bank to support SMEs.

These pledges were drawn up following collaboration with the Business Finance Council and finance providers, business organisations, and government to identify areas that are most significant.

Mark Nelson, director of Compass, says: “Working in collaboration with the government and other finance providers is key to being able to offer the best possible support to the market. Signing up to the Charter reaffirms the commitment we have to our customers, to always do our best for them.”

Founded in 2005 by brothers Mark and Jamie Nelson, Compass specialises in the provision of industry, professions and renewables finance. David Bunker joined the company as director in April 2019.
