Ocean Outdoor and Team GB are working together to provide the UK public with daily Olympic highlights and an exclusive fan zone in Westfield London.

The digital out-of-home (DOOH) media owner will be a pivotal part of supplying viewers with Olympic content, allowing fans to embrace and feel a part of the games throughout various cities in the UK.

The deal is the result of Ocean Outdoor’s official partnership with The British Olympic Association and Team GB.

The largest part of the partnership is the brand new fan zone at Westfield Square, London. The official fan area made in collaboration with Team GB will provide competitions, activities, and Olympic-themed experiences.

The area covers 1,633sq m which is the biggest experiential build to date for Ocean’s multiple integrated technologies service, Ocean Labs.

The Olympic coverage will be provided by the BBC, with Team GB partners like Toyota, Birds Eye, and SEGA providing games and discounts for visitors who will also benefit from free entry to the zone.

This campaign, and our wider UK DOOH activity, is a chance to connect with and drive deeper engagement with fans at scale through the unifying joy of sport and play

Catherine Morgan, director of Ocean Labs says: “The Team GB official fan zone gives the British Olympic Association and their partners an opportunity to evoke the spirit and values of the Games and celebrate the defining moments together. This campaign, and our wider UK DOOH activity, is a chance to connect with and drive deeper engagement with fans at scale through the unifying joy of sport and play.”

Ocean’s DOOH estate will work to promote the fan zone alongside Team GB in and out of Westfield London. From July 23rd to August 9th, Ocean will show Olympic highlights in collaboration with Eurosport, comprising of 60 to 20 second clips.

The fan zone is open for 17 days and will be opened by Fatima Whitbread MBE on the same day as the Olympic Opening Ceremony (July 23rd) which will also be screened at the fan zone at 12pm.
