In light of the coronavirus crisis, the Queen took to the UK’s screens to offer words of wisdom and support.

Taking inspiration from Dame Vera Lynn’s wartime anthem, the message included the words “we will meet again” and provided a sense of optimism and hope in difficult times.

Derek Manns is commercial media manager of Landsec, which owns the Piccadilly Lights. He comments: “We’re proud to be sharing the Queen’s message of support for the nation on Piccadilly Lights. We hope it will provide some light for Londoners as we continue to work through these unprecedented times.”

Her Majesty the Queen is London’s most famous resident, where better to extend her message to Londoners than Piccadilly Lights

With permission from Buckingham Palace, three uplifting messages will appear on the signage along with a photograph of the Queen taken at Windsor Castle as she recorded her speech, provided by PA Media.

Richard Malton, chief marketing officer of Ocean Outdoor which operates the Piccadilly Lights, adds: “The Queen’s address to the nation was inspirational and reassuring. Her Majesty the Queen is London’s most famous resident, where better to extend her message to Londoners than Piccadilly Lights. It has been an honour working with the Palace to make this happen.”
