Registration for the Next Generation Training Day on February 21st is now open

FESPA UK Association will be holding its first Next Generation event of 2024 at Coventry Transport Museum on February 21st.

The association launched its Next Generation initiative last year which featured various events across the UK including collaborations with Zünd and Liyu UK and appearances at exhibitions such as The Print Show in September 2023.

The initiative has been created to meet the demand for more young skilled professionals in the print, signage, and graphics industries as well as to provide networking opportunities for young people.

The latest event will focus on sales and communication with a training workshop focusing on sales techniques, enhancing communication skills, and adapting to the modern landscape of the industry.

The training will be provided by training and consulting business, Kennedy Ross, which was handpicked by FESPA UK due to its attention to detail and engagement with young participants.

Jay Burfield, membership development executive for FESPA UK and chair of the Next Generation Committee, says: "We are excited to continue investing in the next generation of talent within our industry.

“This training day is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the skills and talents of young professionals, ensuring they are well-equipped to take on all the challenges that are faced in print, signage, and graphics, particularly those that come with communication and sales. We have carefully picked out our training providers so that the workshops are impactful and resonate with all our attendees.”

The event will also be attended by The Printing Charity which will provide a short Q&A about its Rising Star Awards as well as attendance from Next Generation supporters like Compass Business Finance, swissQprint, and Vivid Laminating Technologies.

Speaking about her experience on the Next Generation Committee and attending such events, Isabel Shanahan, MAC Operator at Imageco, says: “The use of events are a perfect opportunity for like-minded young people to socialise and create new connections within the industry."
