Family-run sign-making business Humphreys Signs has revealed its recent purchase of a new HP Latex R1000 printer has enabled it to make significant progress with its environmentally friendly goals.

Installed in June 2021 by HP reseller Papergraphics, the flatbed machine is being put to work on a wide range of jobs.

Humphreys specialises in the production of signage boards for estate agents, while also offering a host of other printed solutions such as banners, posters, health and safety signs, builders’ boards, and graphics for the retail and exhibition sectors.

Will Humphreys, owner of the company, says the printer’s environmentally focused features were a key factor in the decision to purchase the machine as they fit in with its long-term goals of taking on more sustainable signage work and projects.

“We loved the fact that the HP Latex R1000 uses more eco-friendly inks,” Humphreys says, adding: “Not only that, it’s also faster than many other printers, can print a gloss or matte finish and even has the ability to print white ink.

“We are working to be more eco-friendly and producing more sustainable signage using recyclable media; the HP Latex R1000 printer was the obvious choice when we were looking to add a flatbed option to our production line-up.

“We were already running two HP Latex roll-to-roll machines and were really happy with the print quality that they were producing, so it made sense to turn to HP for our flatbed solution.”
