The technology will enable consumers to transform the look of a building using their mobile phone

GLAAM Media Glass is a fully transparent, LED embedded, construction-grade material, that has been created with 24 global patents.

The solution will enable venues to change the look of their buildings, with the two companies giving examples whereby people could use their smartphone to control an interactive art piece on the façade, or transforming the side of a venue into a giant screen to show sports events.

The arrangement between the companies will see GLAAM America manufacture the architectural element, based on each individual project’s needs, with ANC to design, distribute, integrate and provide ongoing operation and service of the product installations in the US.

GLAAM America chief executive Casey Chang comments: “GLAAM Media Glass infuses a limitless digital world into the transparent skin of architecture.

It is now possible for large- or small-scale architectural glass applications to create new revenue streams

“Through our partnership with ANC, we now offer a turnkey supply, integration and control solution for US clients looking to be the forefront of media façade technology.”

Key features of the technology include embedded micro-LEDs, weatherproofing and the ability to provide an estimated 100,000 hours of full brightness over its lifetime.

“It is now possible for large- or small-scale architectural glass applications to create new revenue streams, transform facades into digital public art, broadcast real time events, interact with motion or sound, and even connect to smart phones and tablets for experiential activities,” Chang says.

“Our innovation is opening up new and exciting ways for buildings to increase their value and connect with communities in a way never before possible.”

George Linardos, chief executive of ANC, adds: “For our clients looking to transform their buildings and spaces into landmarks with inspiring visuals and interactive content, this new offering can help turn a standard façade into an infinite digital story.”
