Highlights will include Jessica Ennis winning heptathlon gold at the London 2012 Games
This year’s Games should have taken place in Tokyo, Japan, but were pushed back to next year due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
As part of Team GB’s ‘One Year To Go’ countdown to the 20201 Games, the BOA and Ocean Outdoor will run an out of home campaign, broadcasting clips of Team GB athletes in action on digital screens around the country.
Drawing on archive Olympic footage from 1992 to 2016, clips will appear on Ocean Outdoor’s screens in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham, Edinburgh and Newcastle.
The highlights will rotate with clips from the International Olympic Committee’s ‘Stronger Together’ campaign, which has been produced to mark the countdown to the postponed Games.
Ed Jones, head of marketing at the BOA, says: “We’re really excited to be working with Ocean on this campaign, it represents a great opportunity to deliver our 'One Year To Go' message at scale and highlight the role Team GB plays in bringing the nation together.”
