Widd Signs has created a range of signage for two new M&S stores including Stevenage and Woking

The 134-year-old signage company, which has a long lasting relationship with M&S stores, produced over a dozen signs for the new site.

Widd Signs has recently completed a variety of large projects including a major project at Liverpool’s Paddington Village, as well as residential developments in Leeds.

The partnership between M&S and Widd Signs covers 30 years and has seen the companies work together to create and install branded graphics for dozens of M&S stores.

The retailer has recently expanded new clothing and food stores as popularity in the M&S brand and its products has surged thanks iconic to adverts featuring celebrities like Dawn French and characters Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar.

Widd secured five contracts with the retailer at the end of last year, meaning it would produce exterior signage at stores in Stevenage, Woking, Aintree, Cheltenham, and Beckenham.

It’s a role that has seen us design and install signage at their stores all over the world over the last three decades, and we were delighted to once again have the opportunity to showcase the breadth of our industry-leading capabilities.

The latest project meant installing ten logo signs, including a three-metre-tall, and eight-metre-high sign, along with three triangular totem signs that display areas of the store.

Speaking about the project, group head of operations at Widd Signs, Rory Campbell-Pilling says: “We’re proud to serve as a trusted supplier to M&S. It’s a role that has seen us design and install signage at their stores all over the world over the last three decades, and we were delighted to once again have the opportunity to showcase the breadth of our industry-leading capabilities at their Stevenage site.”

The site, a former Debenhams, opened on Thursday April 28th at Roaring Meg Retail Park, Stevenage. Opened as a concept store with new clothing, food, and beauty departments.

As well as large signage, the new store even features a large model of Percy Pig on its roof, welcoming customers at the new site.

In response to new contracts Widd Signs announced last year it would be investing over half a million pounds in the business to improve capabilities and expand its 70 person team.
