The Sign Group lights up its community

For such a creative industry, it is rare to find trade suppliers and manufactures that are able to showcase themselves with real flare and with products that are unique and innovative. It seems that The Sign Group is trying to make up for several competitor’s worth of inactivity by working harder than ever in 2016 as it engages in community building, launches a new customer hub, creates a vibrant working show room, and receives prestigious accreditation for its products.

“We have never been busier at The Sign Group, and over the years we have moved on from having trays and light boxes as our bread and butter work. Today it is a lot more about bespoke projects. For example, the ‘rust effect’ letters, or fairground style animated cabochons. A lot more thought and design goes into signage today, and there are drawbacks because you have to go back and forth a lot until it is right. But it is good to really deliver exactly what the customer wants, and something that captures the essence of their brand or company ethos,” says Graeme Hoole, production manager at The Sign Group.

The first major milestone in 2016 for the company has been the launch of a brand new online customer hub, which provides an ongoing showcase of its latest work, offers, social media interaction, and programme of local community engagement.

Among the highlights on the new site is the news that The Sign Group is set to reach out to its area of Leeds and help foster youth support initiatives.

“We are very proud to announce our support for grassroots rugby as it’s a fantastic way to bring the community together. Rugby is also a great way to make sure the kids stay active and learn how to be confident and well-adjusted,” says Hoole, who adds: “The new sign we have made for our local team gives people, young and old alike, a few tips on rugby spectating. This includes supporting the children, motivating them, enjoying the game, offering encouragement and respecting the decision of the referee.

“The club will build a new clubroom, complete with facilities, which will be available to hire for anyone interested. We strongly support the importance of bonding as a community – getting the chance to help Drighlington U7s Rugby Club makes us a very proud to be a part of the neighbourhood.”

The Sign Group has also been working hard to put the finishing touches to its in-house working showroom, which displays a fantastic array of colourful and creative uses of its technology. Customers can visit the showroom and not only witness what the technology does, but also see first-hand how it is made.

Key to The Sign Group’s portfolio is Neon Plus, which has recently been given prestigious CE approval by the BSI Group. CE marking essentially allows you to legally market and distribute your product within the European market, and declares that your product complies with all applicable European directives and regulations.

The upcoming Sign and Digital UK show on April 19th will also see The Sign Group receive its official ‘Certificate of Compliance’ from the BSI relating to the tests at the sign show. The event will also once again see The Sign Group push the boat out with another stand that will showcase an intense array of its best work and how the company is pushing the limits of creativity and innovation with its stand.

Hoole continues: “In short, we have never been busier, we have never done more interesting work, we have never had more staff, we have never had such good staff, and we have never been more optimistic than we are at the moment.”
