It seems the future of tube travel is set to be projected signage, as display experts Paradigm AV showcased its digital projection solution at the ‘Going Underground: Our journey to the future’ exhibition this year.

Paradigm AV managed the full audiovisual installation, including the warping of images onto curved surfaces using Calibre UK HQView320 image scalers with NEC PH1400U projectors

Working for CBS Outdoor UK, Paradigm AV managed the full audiovisual installation, which was integrated into a mock up of the Siemens Inspiro concept metro train. Using cross track projection, the solution delivers moving video messages and advertisements onto the wall opposite the station pedestrian platform, with Calibre UK HQView320 image scalers integrated for added realism.

Greg Jeffreys, founder at Paradigm AV, explains: “We are using four-sided soft-edge blend, flexible geometry correction functions, and full warp mapping of the HQView320s, which enable a projected image to be warped onto the Paradigm curved screen and frame.”

Since we partnered with Paradigm AV to supply our products to market they have always impressed us with their interesting use of display technology, in creating reliable audiovisual systems for visitor attractions and storytelling

Pauline Brooksbank, managing director at Calibre UK, adds: “Since we partnered with Paradigm AV to supply our products to market they have always impressed us with their interesting use of display technology, in creating reliable audiovisual systems for visitor attractions and storytelling.

“The HQView320s are the perfect tool to perfectly align images onto unusual shapes and sizes. They are compatible with a variety of sources, enabling the ticketing information and experience to wow audiences.”

The Going Underground exhibition is presented by Siemens alongside the London Transport Museum and CBS Outdoor UK, designed to  engage and inform audiences about technologies such as electronic ticketing developments, passenger information systems, and station management solutions.
