Niggles and nasties: sign-makers's irritations

These and other niggles are the things are some of the things that most get under the skin of those in the psign-making industry. How many times have you sorted out the work flow for the day or even the week and someone tosses in a googly? Can we have the job you quoted on yesterday tomorrow? Or just as you get staffed up for a major influx of work from a new client the job is put on hold while a company buy-out is confirmed or the managing director goes on holiday.

Machinery breakdowns and shortages of usables such as ink, paper, plastic and cleaning products can catch many out when they are concentrating on work. Who hasn't been caught out by this one?

Many have said the recession has actually tightened things up with many insisting on early payment or even payment up front for new customers however legit they appear

Cash flow is always a niggle for companies?whether large or small. Payment or rather delays in payment can cause untold problems and sleepless nights for the owner. Many have said the recession has actually tightened things up with many insisting on early payment or even payment up front for new customers however legit they appear.

But the problem of large corporates dragging their feet over payment is one that has not gone away and will need legislation to force a change. Perhaps with Labour set to win the next election this is something the sign-making industry should lobby Miliband over.
