Reddhart strikes metal in first European deal

By James Matthews-Paul

EXCLUSIVE by James Matthews-Paul

Design and production outfit Reddhart Graphics has become the first to invest in an eight-colour (CMYK, Lc, Lm, W, Mt) VersaCamm VS-640 from Roland, to be delivered in early May.

The VS-640 follows on at the South Woodham, Essex site from a VP-300 a Roland cutter that co-director Steve Hart had in his bedroom from the age of 13. Both he and co-director Adam Reddington are 24 years old and come from design backgrounds, Hart from university and Reddington from reprographics for commercial print.

Reddhart intends to use the VS-640 for full wraps, a high-profile cosmetics account and trade work requiring metallic effects. The duo reports that they learnt on the job and were supported by a free intermediate digital printing course at the Roland Academy.

The company was founded two years ago ‘in a pub’, according to Hart, who adds that they are hoping to attract major commercial and high street trade clients to their existing Motorcross customers.
