Set for success
Vivid had a great show in 2017 and we are looking forward to showcasing our latest products to the print industry.
New for 2018 is our Magnum range of solutions for slit, cut, crease, perf and folding applications, ideal systems to work alongside any digital printing press operation. All models support various paper weights, laminated stock and enable applications such as business cards, leaflets and menus to be finished in-house, saving the cost and delay of outsourcing. The Magnum's are all feature packed, versatile and straightforward to operate offering some really clever features such as the patented ‘Sniper’ technology on the MC-35/MC35A, which automatically sets the crease position from tick marks on the artwork or hand-drawn on the first sheet, this makes set-up a breeze.

No Vivid stand would be complete without our Matrix lamination, foil and spot UV effect systems and this year we will have the latest model capable of running at up to 20 metres per minute, halving the production time compared to our standard ten metre per minute version. The Matrix is a modular system and we will be highlighting how accessories such as the Omni-Flow deep pile feeder can be added to expand the system. The Omni-Flow allows up to 700 sheets of 250gsm paper to be stacked for automatic feeding, meaning that an operator doesn’t have to stand over the machine hand-feeding.
For large-format users we will have the Easymount lamination systems on the stand – including the award-winning EM-1600SH. With features such as swing-out arms, which make changing laminate and vinyl rolls easy, and pneumatic rollers, which automatically adjust to ensure a consistent pressure across different substrate thicknesses, this is always a popular machine at events.

Our print and finishing department allows us to offer customers a comprehensive service, from artwork completion to print and finishing requirements. Using up-to-date equipment and industry software, we can design, print and manufacture various substrates and are able to maintain quick turnaround times at competitive prices. We manufacture hoarding panels, banners, signage, graphics and can print direct to substrate to foam, aluminium composite, correx, vinyl, canvas and wallpaper, to mention but a few.

New opportunities

Following a very successful Print Show in 2017, Hybrid Services will be back again at the 2018 exhibition with an increased stand space. As Mimaki’s exclusive distributor, we had an excellent show last year, using it as the platform to launch the incredible UCJV Series printer/cutters. We are fully anticipating this year’s show to be a similarly great opportunity to reach existing and prospective customers.
Hybrid has increased its stand space by about a third and a number of our resellers have already committed to the show so we’re expecting another substantial Mimaki presence in 2018. Mimaki’s product line-up sports an incredible variety of ink technologies including LED UV, solvent, textile and water-based machines and our stand will represent this with a range of systems on display.

Exhibitions like The Print Show are always a great opportunity to launch new technology and with Mimaki’s reputation as an innovation-led manufacturer, we’ll have a stand full of the company’s very latest print solutions. We’re keen to enable visitors to investigate new business opportunities and with the breadth of capability we have within Mimaki’s product range, there are very few print-related needs that we can’t offer a solution for!
The Print Show is a great platform to engage with the industry. The extra space we’ve committed to allows us to bring further new and innovative Mimaki products to the exhibition, expanding the range of solutions on display and offering a greater variety of ideas with which to inspire visitors.
We’re looking forward to another successful show and, having supported the exhibition since its very first year, it’ll be great to be back at the NEC in 2018, with our biggest range of Mimaki printers to date.

Earls Court 2002, the London Boat Show. I found myself sipping champagne on the top deck of an 80ft boat with a very nice man in chinos and a blazer who was showing me how the new flybridge barbeque worked.
I couldn’t have afforded to fill the thing up with fuel (the BBQ or the boat!) but that meeting cemented my, albeit slightly one sided, relationship with Sunseeker.
And that’s what trade shows are all about; to put companies and prospective as well as existing customers together, to put a face to the company and encourage business to be done and to showcase new products and services. We once bought the newly launched GSr series off the Vutek stand at FESPA and spent the rest of the day smiling smugly as we walked past the machine sporting a sign that said ‘Sold to Venture’ on it.

We are very excited to be exhibiting at The Print Show again in September and I am hoping it will be a chance for us to meet some of our existing customers and perhaps attract some new ones. We will be showcasing our new fabric SEG stands and for people who don’t currently utilise our services it will be chance to see the quality and scope of products that we offer and perhaps more importantly the profit margins they can make.
However, I think the real star of our stand will be the VB Media section. VB media is a subsidiary of Venture and offers the jobbing printer a full professional ecommerce website for large and small-format print for only £49 per montah (plus VAT). A completely autonomous product it allows you to take orders online and then place the work with any supplier you choose or indeed do it yourself. With business increasingly going online it’s essential to have a high quality internet presence nowadays and the VB Media system offers that without breaking the bank.
