Mimaki shows its strength with new launches

Mimaki looks set to move ahead of competition in the market after announcing a number of new technology launches.

The JFX200-2531 LED UV flatbed printer builds on the success of the JFX200-2513 model and will join the JFX200 product family, while the UJF-3042 MkII and the UJF-6042 MkII will be unveiled at Viscom Paris next week.

The JFX200-2531 is a large flatbed UV-curable inkjet printer compatible with media up to 2.5 x 3.1m, which Mimaki says increases the application range to accommodate large signs, wall decorations, doors, and other large items. It is also capable of accommodating two signage boards of 1,220 × 2,440mm in size.

Stuart Cole, national sales manager industrial products for Hybrid Services, the exclusive distributor of Mimaki in the UK and Ireland, says: “This is a really positive development of the JFX range and yet again demonstrates Mimaki’s commitment to listening to its customers and delivering products that meet their ever-changing needs.

“I’m certain that this new model will have huge appeal to sign-makers whose businesses are expanding, diversifying and are now looking for greater output capability.”

The JFX200-2531 includes improved media handling and an ioniser that eliminates electrostatic discharge, which can affect the overall quality of images. High quality images are clearly a focal point for the machine, as anti-banding functions and variable dot printing also help to produce clear and vivid images.

A wide range of ink sets are available, including LH-100 scratch resistant ink, LUS-120 and LUS-150 inks for printing on soft materials, LUS-200 ink for outdoor applications subject to adverse weather conditions, and LUS-350 ink which is a unique, stretchable ink for thermoforming applications. The latter can stretch up to 350 percent without cracking.

With availability expected early next year, the JFX200-2531 will be offered via Hybrid’s network of specialist industrial products resellers.

Superior productivity

Meanwhile, the new UJF-3042 MkII and the UJF-6042 MkII have been introduced to replace the earlier UJF-3042HG and UJF-6042 models, respectively, with the manufacturer stating that they offer superior productivity, print quality, and flexibility over their successful predecessors.

Both machines offer print speeds 20 percent faster than the older models, while the new device can also use a wide array of different ink sets to take many different types of work.

Mike Horsten, general manager marketing of Mimaki EMEA, comments: “We are excited to be bringing these new printers to Viscom Paris, along with a full portfolio of industry-leading Mimaki printers, including the recently launched UJV55-320, a 3.2m roll-to-roll inkjet printer ideal for backlit signage, and the Tx300P-1800 that delivers high quality printing on a wide range of textiles.

“We believe that our stand really will have something for everyone and are confident that visitors to the Viscom show will be amazed at the breadth of these printers’ capabilities.

“We are looking forward to discussing the new business opportunities available to them, by adding Mimaki printers to their production platforms.”

Mimaki had success at Drupa earlier in the year, with Horsten calling it ‘one of their most successful shows ever’. At the European Digital Press Association (EDP) Awards, the company walked away with Best Wide Format Roll-to-Roll Printer up to 320 cm for the UJV55-320, Best Textile Printer Roll-to-Roll up to 100 sqm/h for the TX300P, and Best Special Object Printer for the UJF-7151 plus.

With the company continually working to bring exciting and efficient new technology to the market, it is no surprise that Mimaki have been enjoying its time in the limelight.
