This summer, football fans around the world will be tuning in to watch the World Cup, the sport’s showpiece tournament that serves as a platform for the game’s best players. England will again be looking to complete the heroics of 1966, although Messrs Ronaldo, Messi, and Salah may have something to say about that.

Although much of the attention will be on the World Cup in June and July, not so long ago, fans were cheering on their own clubs as they sought silverware in the busy end-of-season period. One team that had a particularly successful season was Wolverhampton Wanderers, which won promotion to the Premier League after clinching the championship title.

As well as being able to play in the most popular league in the world, promotion to the Premier League brings with it a pay day of some £170m, so it was only right that Wolves celebrated this achievement properly. Step forward Totally Dynamic, a company that specialises in vehicle wraps.

Totally Dynamic worked with the club to decorate two open top buses for a celebratory tour around Wolverhampton city centre, culminating with a huge party in nearby West Park. The event, which took place on the early May bank holiday, attracted some 80,000 people as supporters joined together to celebrate the team’s return to the top tier.

“With the parade captured by national television and press and thousands of Wolves fans sharing the event on social media, the buses had to look perfect,” Scott Coleman, owner and manager of Totally Dynamic, comments.

He continues: “It was an occasion the fans will remember for a lifetime, so we made certain both bus wraps were of the highest Premier League quality.

“The football club hired a Routemaster and Volvo bus from Ensign Bus Company in Purfleet, who then approached us to create and install the full body vinyl designs. Wrapping buses is something we’ve had plenty of experience of; wrapping the celebration buses for Chelsea in 2010 and 2015.”

Glamorous work

For the Wolves job, Totally Dynamic opted for Avery Dennison’s MPI 3001 HOP with a DOL 3460 overlaminate and perforated window vinyl with a gloss cast laminate. The wraps took seven staff two days to complete, with Totally Dynamic utilising its Redhill and Enfield site to ensure the work was completed on time.

As a franchise, Totally Dynamic has installation centres throughout the UK; two in London, as well as sites in Norfolk and Milton Keynes. All centres are run by a team of trained professionals, all with a wealth of experience in vehicle wrapping and local knowledge.

Coleman says this commitment is reflected in the company's work, having taken on jobs from other high profile clients such as Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and clothing brand Jack Wills.

“We’ve been fortunate to work with some really beautiful cars and glamorous projects,” Coleman says, adding: “We’ve recently wrapped an Aston Martin DB11 for the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team, in the style of the team’s F1 shakedown test livery and our applicators have just come back from wrapping a boat in Monaco, ahead of the F1 race.

“We are fortunate to work for many household brands too. They rely on Totally Dynamic to deliver the highest quality vehicle wraps for their commercial projects, marketing campaigns, and promotional vehicles. We’re currently wrapping a fleet of Land Rovers for clothing brand, Jack Wills, and recently wrapped vans for the Adidas Runners Club in London.”

Creating amazing vehicle wraps for more than 15 years, we’ve earned a reputation as one of the UK’s leading specialist wrapping companies

Coleman goes on to say that Totally Dynamic also works with a host of private clients, with the company entrusted with decorating luxurious supercars: “We have just transformed a McLaren 570S with a matt metallic wrap and a stunning Lamborghini Aventador was wrapped in full chrome.

“Creating amazing vehicle wraps for more than 15 years, we’ve earned a reputation as one of the UK’s leading specialist wrapping companies and pride ourselves on delivering exceptional results and superb customer service.

“We also work in partnership with some of the world’s most prestigious manufacturers of wrap materials and print technology because they trust us to adhere to their exacting standards.”

Diversifying into print

Clearly established in the vehicle wrapping sector, Totally Dynamic is keen to spread its reach further still and also operates a print business in the form of DDI.

Launched 25 years ago, DDI actually formed the basis for the overall business today. Adrian Rope, who founded DDI, went on to open Totally Dynamic in 2005 as a specialist vehicle wrapping franchise. DDI, which now operates as a large-format trade printing business, supplies the vehicle wrapping centres with all print requirements.

“Our continuing aim is to set the standard for exciting, quality wraps which benefit every kind of business and brand,” Coleman says, adding: “We’re famed for our innovative approach and for pushing the boundaries of wrap design and installation.

“Our local teams benefit from ongoing specialist training from industry leaders Avery Dennison. Our centres have access to the latest insights and materials in vehicle wrapping technology, meaning they’re always ahead of the game.”

With this in mind, Coleman sets out his key goals to further expand the Totally Dynamic business: “A large proportion of our work is for commercial customers, and we plan to expand our business-to-business portfolio of clients further.

“We’re also capable of wrapping extra large vehicles and more unusual objects, so always awaiting the next exciting wrapping challenges. Nothing phases us. We love to get our teeth into a unique brief. We’ve wrapped grand pianos, modern art installations, sculptures, and theme park rides; you name it, we can wrap it.

“Specialists at designing, printing, and applying full body vinyl wraps to any vehicle, we help vehicle owners and businesses transform their cars, vans, lorries, buses, and more, creating an innovative and cost-effective way to attract the right kind of attention.”
