Astley Signs celebrates 30 years

Gateshead-based Astley Signs recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, holding a series of special events to mark the occasion.

Astley Signs first opened its doors in 1924, with the celebrations marking 30 years since the current directors took ownership of the company in April 1990.

The last three decades have seen Astley Signs significantly expand its business, building up a client portfolio that includes well-known grocery brands, international retailers and petroleum clients.

This growth was supported by the acquisition of Sign of the Times in 2016, with this having since been rebranded to Astley.

Celebrating the milestone year, Astley Signs has staged a number of special events including a staff raffle, an extra day’s holiday gifted to each team member, staff goody-bags and a complimentary lunch and presentation for the entire workforce.

Gavin Redhead, managing director and owner of Astley, comments: “It’s so wonderful to finally be able to celebrate this key milestone for the company, especially after the events of this last 18 months.

“We understandably made a conscious decision to delay the anniversary from last year, but now feel it’s the perfect time to celebrate our staff and all that has been achieved.

“The teams at our sites have worked exceptionally hard to build this business into what it is today, and we believe that 30 years in any industry, but particular this one that continues to experience turbulent times following the pandemic, is a great achievement for all involved.”
