PVL helps wrap F1 Aston Martins

UK-based specialists in high visibility livery and branding, PVL, has recently highlighted its work with Aston Martin and the Saudi Arabia F1 GP.

The company that is based in West Sussex, collaborated with Apex Brand Engineers to produce a high-quality material that would fit the expectations of the prestigious racing event. Apex was looking for a well-produced offering compared to the low-grade options that could be sourced locally.

Since 1996, Mercedes Benz was the official supplier of safety and medical cars for the FIA Formula One World Championship. In 2021, Aston Martin returned to the sport after sixty years as an official racing team, but also a supplier of support vehicles on the track.

The wrapped Astons were created for the penultimate race of the season at the new Jeddah Street circuit in Saudi Arabia.

PVL succeeded in its brief thanks to its partners William Smith and Arlon Graphics, both of which helped PVL with aspects of designs, printing, labelling, and laminating.

It’s different than anything I have ever installed. The matt finish for DBX was stunning as a result, the colours looked vibrant and HD. I am surprised how much the team and the client admired the matt look.

The team at PVL had very little time and vehicle information, making the project an even bigger challenge on top of the logistical issues of providing Apex the materials from overseas.

With considerations like the complex designs of the cars, and the hot climate of Saudi Arabia, wrapping materials had to be sent in small pieces due to shipping restrictions. PVL had to ensure the team in Jeddah were able to apply the wraps to the Aston DBX and Vantage models.

PVL has worked with contacts in the Middle East for years before this latest venture

Zaher Iyaso, president of Apex branding says: “It’s different than anything I have ever installed. The matt finish for DBX was stunning as a result, the colours looked vibrant and HD. I am surprised how much the team and the client admired the matt look.”

The finished vehicles were eventually showcased at the British council, as well as in the F1 procession, much to the delight of the project clients.
