Viva Las Vegas for USSI Global

USSI Global, a company that specialises in customised network and digital media solutions, has teamed up with the Las Vegas Convention Centre to carry out essential maintenance of a gigantic digital screen at the venue.

Measuring 165ft high and 90ft wide and composed of 2,278 LED cabinets, the direct view LED (dvLED) wall is one of the largest installations of its type and is used by the venue for advertising, programming, show and venue news.

Last month, USSI Global sent its team to the location to handle the project with its six USSI Global technicians and six certified union lift operators removing and reinstalling cabinets, replacing power supplies, and improving cable management throughout the wall.

The project, which required four 50ft scissor lifts and two 150ft boom lifts, was completed in just seven days.

USSI Global chief executive and president David Christiano comments: “A three-story display is a stunning way to welcome attendees to the LVCC. It’s a multi-functional wall that offers a multi-zone approach to programming.

“That kind of flexibility provides a very large and very creative canvas for sharing informative and entertaining content.”

Located just off the famous Strip in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Convention Centre has played host to a number of major events, including boxing matches featuring legends Muhammed Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.
