Epson plots POS and photo market growth

Epson has announced the launch of two new printers for companies in the photo printing, point-of-sale and architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) markets.

The SureColor SC-T7700D has been designed for producing POS poster materials, as well as for use by AEC companies creating detailed and precise CAD plans and drawings.

Meanwhile, Epson said that the new SC-P8500D is suitable for high print volume poster production and copy shops offering large-format photo printing as self-service.

Both printers measure 44” and print in six-colour, with the SureColor SC-T7700D offering UltraChrome Pro6 inkset with matte and photo black as well as a new grey ink, and the SC-P8500D with Ultrachrome XD3 ink set featuring a new red ink.

Tom Owers, pro graphics product manager at Epson UK, comments: “The SC-T7700D offers a fully integrated printing solution with productive printing, smart features and easy operation with the highest standards of document security.

“With the SC-P8500D, our customers in this area need low running costs, high production speeds and easy printer handling. Combined with great image quality and a small footprint, the SC-P8500D is an ideal proposition.”
