CMYUK creates new sustainable materials role

CMYUK has welcomed John Sulzmann to the team who will work on developing sustainable materials for the Design and Build architectural sectors.

Sulzmann is the former co-founder and director of Artwork Solutions which is a manufacturer of bespoke graphic solutions.

CMYUK is a distributor of digitally prepared textiles and materials for wide-format print processes and serves markets such as décor, display, interiors, exhibition, retail and architectural.

Since 2017, the distributor has been working with manufacturers to develop sustainable materials. This includes UFabrik ECO one-piece wallcoverings which are made of recycled yarn from single-use plastic waste.

Sulzmann says: “I am delighted to join CMYUK in this new position. I have always admired how CMYUK has grown to become a market leader. I am really impressed by its sustainable and exclusive materials development, placing it in a position to become a true specification solution for brands and corporates.”

CMYUK is also about to launch a new commercial recycling service for its customers which will divert materials away from landfill to be recycled and converted into energy.

Robin East, CMYUK group sales and marketing director describes the service as “the last piece of the specified solution puzzle”. He says: “It provides a controlled and trackable waste collection service that allows brands to manage the disposal of CMYUK approved post printed waste.”

On Sulzmann’s appointment, East adds: “John completely shares our vision, recognising the significance of our unparalleled materials portfolio and the sustainable message it brings to the specifier arena.”

Sulzmann describes the CMYUK eco portfolio as “redefining architectural textiles and wallcoverings” and predicts it will replace existing materials and improve applications.
