DM Signs eyes major expansion push

Wigan-based DM Signs has set out plans to significantly expand its business after revealing details of major investment in new printing and finishing equipment.

The firm, which counts the likes of Wigan Athletic and Wigan Warriors among its customers, has added a new Mimaki latest JFX 200-2513 EX and Kongsberg Esko X-44 digital cutting table to its portfolio.

The machinery will run alongside an existing Mimaki UCJV300-160 UV roll-to-roll printer at the company’s new 700sq m site, where it recently relocated to supports its wider expansion plans.

“We had steadily been growing out of the unit we were in, but this took us over the edge,” says Jamie Collins, part of the management team at DM Signs, adding: “We needed somewhere large enough for customer vehicles as well as increased space for manufacturing and finishing.”

Andy Hudson, also part of the management at DM Signs, adds: “As businesses reopen, they will want to refresh their environments.  We want to be able to help them do that in a more ethical way, so we’ll be looking at new environmental materials that we know the machinery can handle.

“We’ll continue to drive the efficiency of our workflow combined with our new equipment and location, providing even faster turnaround times, and even greater value for money.”
