Touchless trend continues with Videotel

Videotel Digital has become the latest manufacturer in the digital signage sector to announce the launch of a new touchless solution, in response to a growing demand for the technology.

Retailers and marketers are calling for more touchless solutions, with consumers now less likely to interact with more traditional touchscreen devices over concerns related to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

As such, Videotel has made its new Infrared Touchless Buttons available across its full array of touchless interactive products.

The Infrared Touchless Buttons allow touchless triggering within 3 inches of the surface, which eliminates the need for physical contact, and also include a change of colour, signalling the user that the button has responded.

Lisa Schneider, executive vice president of marketing and sales at Videotel Digital, says: “Videotel Digital’s new Infrared LED buttons are a perfect solution for any interactive displays, kiosks, museum exhibits, and medical facilities, especially where you want to take interactive touch signage and turn it into a touchless alternative.”

The new range comprises five products, the first of which is Move Motion Senser, a customisable solution that allows users to make Videotel player interactively trigger individual or multiple video files to show content when a viewer is detected.

The Sense Proximity Sensor is designed with ‘smart sensors’ that detect the approach of a viewer and play different messages based on a viewer’s proximity.

Wave to Play allows an ‘attract screen’ to loop seamlessly until a hand wave motion triggers a selling message, while Tap Interactive is activated via a foot pedal, which allows the user to trigger screen content without using their hands.

In addition, QR - available in Videotel Digital’s free digital signage cloud software - enables messaging to include a QR code, which, once photographed, will then automatically transfer to a smartphone for touchless screen navigation, allowing the consumer to control screens from their own mobile phone.
