Epson eyes new markets with SureColor

Epson has announced the launch of its first A4 dye-sublimation printer, as the digital print giant seeks to further expand its presence in the industry and secure new customers in additional markets.

The SureColor SC-F100 is billed as being suitable for producing promotional and personalised goods including mugs, key fobs, phone covers and other small merchandise items.

In addition to the promotional print market, Epson says the new machine can also be put to use in the textile print sector, with the ability to create bespoke products such as caps, aprons, lanyards and small cushions.

Tom Owers, product manager, Epson Europe, comments: “Following on from the hugely successful SC-F500 launched in 2019, the SC-F100 is a great new addition to Epson’s dye-sublimation line-up.

“It will enable more businesses to expand into the increasingly popular promotional goods market.”

Key features on the printer include 140ml ink bottles, which Epson says provide a lower cost alternative to cartridge-based inks, while it also uses the Epson PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead.

All machines will also be supplied with a one-year or 6,000-sheet warranty, whichever comes first for the user.

Users don’t have to be experts to operate the printer – print jobs can be sent via Wi-Fi using Epson’s dedicated driver,” Owers says, adding: “With the new Epson Cloud Solution PORT platform also enabled, users can keep an eye on print job costs and track usage over time.”
