Printwear and Promotion 2021 postponed

Organisers of the Printwear and Promotion LIVE! event have announced that the 2021 edition of the show, which had been due to take place in February next year, will be postponed.

Though organisers did not give a rearranged date, they did state their desire to stage the event later in 2021.

The decision comes after the UK government’s announcement that the planned reopening of the NEC in Birmingham to host events from October has now been delayed, with no update on when the venue will reopen.

Setting out its latest measures to slow the spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19), the government warned that restrictions could be in place for at least six months.

Tony Gardner, event director of Printwear and Promotion LIVE!, comments: “The February dates were giving serious reason for doubt with ourselves and exhibitors, due to the increased uncertainty, as a result of the recent rise in infections and local lockdowns, and with the winter still to come.

As organisers we currently remain optimistic that we will be able to deliver a successful, vibrant and dynamic exhibition

“Consequently, we felt that an early decision to postpone the event would be in everybody’s best interests.”

Gardner adds that organisers remain positive about the future of the show, with a recent survey having revealed that 71% of visitors advised that their intention to visit next year has not been affected by the pandemic.

Some 5% of respondents said that they are now more likely to visit, while 21% said they would be more likely to attend if the show was pushed back a few months.

“As organisers we currently remain optimistic that we will be able to deliver a successful, vibrant and dynamic exhibition for our loyal visitors later on in 2021,” Gardner says.
