Show must go on for Floreeda

Floreeda Fabrications has revealed how it recently chose to go ahead with an innovative project, despite the original initiative having been disrupted by the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The company built a huge retail concept stand inside its Manchester workshop, having initially planned to unveil the project at the VM & Display Show, which was cancelled as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.

Featuring bold illuminated store signage, Floreeda says the concept now serves as inspiration for its wide-ranging customer base of designers and specifiers, at a time when they cannot view it in person.

Revealed in stages, the initiative features a shop window concept involving an illuminated Perspex acrylic illuminated vinyl turntable and branding, while inside, Floreeda says that there is “something for all retail sectors”, with a contemporary styled beauty lab, footwear wall, apparel wall and accessories section.

Floreeda managing director Paul Jones comments: “We were due to exhibit at the VM & Display Show and celebrate our 30th birthday by doubling the size of our stand and had this amazing concept ready to go.

Luckily, we moved into a new premises last year and have an Innovation Zone where we display previous concepts  for visiting customers

“As lockdown set in, we thought, why not build the stand anyway and document the progress online to help keep innovation going through these difficult times?  Luckily, we moved into a new premises last year and have an Innovation Zone where we display previous concepts  for visiting customers.”

Floreeda’s mantra is ‘Create, Innovate, Fabricate’ and this, according to Jones, is exactly what it is showcasing with its ‘20|30 Vision’, which draws on its 30th anniversary celebrations.

“We thrive on playing with light, we even have a crazy idea of edge illuminated clothing that you put on to get your photo taken in the shop window,” Jones says.
