Ultima Displays hands major boost to events sector

Visual communications provider Ultima Displays has announced details of a new solution that could prove to be a significant development in the recovery of the UK’s events and exhibitions sector.

The HeiQ Viroblock NPJ03 is a new self-sanitising stretch fabric that has been tested to be 99.99% effective within 30 minutes against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

Antiviral and antibacterial properties on the new solution have been developed through a combination of silver and vesicle technologies, designed to cut viral and bacterial infectivity on treated surfaces.

“Our industry has been badly affected with the pandemic and we have seen our customers and dealers’ businesses suffer,” says Mark McCleery, managing director at Ultima Displays.

“The treated stretch textile with the HeiQ Viroblock technology is a game changer for the industry, as it opens the door to fabric displays across retail, exhibition, conference and events.

The inherent self-sanitising properties mean that the graphic remains germs and microbes resistant without the need to wipe clean

The UK events and exhibitions market has been severely hit by the Covid-19 crisis, with all events having been forced to cancel or postpone due to safety measures not allowing them to go ahead.

This includes in print, where major events such as Drupa, FESPA and The Print Show have all delayed their 2020 events until next year, when it is hoped the Covid-19 situation will have improved.

However, the introduction of Ultima Displays’ new solution could help speed up the return of events, as it offers additional protection to visitors and exhibitors alike.
