Visual Group aids with social distancing

During the pandemic, it is not just front line workers that need help, but those who have lost their income or are struggling to feed their family.

Food banks have been vital for families on low income over the last few years, but as the coronavirus has forced businesses to close, many have now lost their jobs meaning a reliance on donated food.

These food banks still need to follow government guidelines with social distancing, with supermarkets implementing rules for shoppers in the same way. But for charities like food banks, it may be difficult to come up with sufficient signage in order to provide guidance for social distancing.

Visual Group has stepped up to the plate and has supported Doncaster Food Bank and donated signage in order to help with social distancing. The donation is part of the company’s Community At Heart charity scheme.

One of the issues faced by the Doncaster Food Bank is that it does not have a permanent facility and volunteers work to organise food parcels from Doncaster Christ Church. This means that permanent signage could not be put in place to inform of social distancing measures.

To battle the problem, Visual Group manufactured a pavement A Board menu sign, which featured social distancing advice on staying two metres apart. The A Board sign was portable, which means that the volunteers could easily move this around and pack it away once they were finished.
